TwoArtChicks presents 'Moving Pictures: Dance & Images': This is an exhibition of recent photographs of dancers in action, improvising movement for the camera in collaboration with photographer and former UNC-Chapel Hill professor Steve Clarke, author of the recent book "Seeing While Being Seen." The images bring out the discoveries that dancers experience in this exploratory process. The exhibition runs from July 1st through July 30th. The Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, July 7, from 6-9 p.m., will include a book signing by Steve Clarke and a site-specific dance performance. There will also be a Closing Reception with a dance performance and book signing on Friday, July 29, from 6-8 p.m.

Heritage Day at Blandwood Mansion: This event is part of the three day celebration of Independence Day in downtown Greensboro. The event will focus on the heritage and culture of the Piedmont area. Local bands will play on the Back Porch stage. Artisans, such as weavers, spinners, quilters and storytellers will be onsite demonstrating. Revolutionary War re-enactors will be camping, marching, and shooting on the front lawn. This is a free event and will be held rain or shine.

Weatherspoon Art Museum hosts 'Birney Imes' Exhibit: This exhibit presents the work of one of the finest photographers known in the South. From 1983 to 1989, Imes journeyed throughout the Mississippi Delta tracking stories about the people and music of juke joint nightclubs. Thirty of Imes's color photographs were selected to illustrate these iconic atmospheres and their inhabitants. This exhibit runs July 3 through September 18, 2005! Natural Science Center presents 'Oceans In Space Planetarium Show': Oceans in Space is a thought-provoking journey that seeks to answer one of mankind's greatest questions: Are we alone? It highlights the search for extra-solar planets and an understanding of the necessary conditions to form and sustain life. The show traces the origin and evolution of the solar system and the formation of our planet's oceans. Next, the search for the possibility of life moves out into the universe to other stars and planets. Admission is $2 planetarium admission in addition to the general admission price. Greensboro Historical Museum hosts 'Otto Zenke Miniature Furniture Exhibit': Like the room interiors designed for families from Greensboro and across the country, Zenke's miniatures reflect a love of late 18th century English interiors. Working in a miniature scale, Zenke created elegant interiors without the restrictions of budgetary constraints of architectural impediments. Rather than using the standard scale of one inch equal one foot, Zenke preferred the unusual 1 1/2 inches to a foot. Most of the furniture was handmade, primarily of fine-grained woods, and varnished or painted to look like period furniture. Zenke also made the moldings, columns, mirrored screens and louvered doors with brass hardware. Free admission and parking. Tuesdays-Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays 2-5 p.m.

Natural Science Center presents 'Robot Zoo Traveling Exhibit': The Robot Zoo, a 2,500 square foot traveling exhibit created by Clear Channel Exhibitions, features three active robotic animals, including a platypus, a chameleon and a house fly. Visitors can see the inner workings of the animals up close, since these animals are made to be larger-than-life. Have you ever wondered how a chameleon changes color? Find out this answer and more as you explore the biomechanics of these fascinating animals. The Robot Zoo also has eight interactive learning experiences for visitors, such as Swat the Fly and the Tongue Gun. Open daily Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 12:30-5 p.m. Price for exhibit is included in the general admission price, $6 adults and $5 children and seniors. Weatherspoon Art Museum hosts 'Emil Lukas' Exhibit: Lukas employs the complex and unpredictable forces of gravity, light, and chemical reaction to alter simple materials like plaster and paper. It is when these unknowable forces exert their influence that a pivotal moment of process occurs. In this way, Lukas constantly tests and expands the parameters of the materials he uses in his art. Natural Science Center of Greensboro hosts 'A Bug Discovery' Exhibit: A bug symphony welcomes and enchants visitors as they explore the dark, mysterious Bug Discovery. Here they will enjoy an up-close look at 20 of the world's hairiest, largest, most colorful and most venomous invertebrates, such as goliath birdeater tarantula, death stalker scorpion, brown recluse, Peruvian red centipede, giant tropical cockroaches, giant African black millipede, dead leaf mantids, and more! Hours of operation: Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 12:30-5 p.m. Admission fees are $6 for adults, $5 children ages 2-13 and seniors, and under age 2 are admitted free of charge.

Natural Science Center of Greensboro hosts 'Star Travelers' Planetarium Show: Jason and Christopher are enjoying a night of star-gazing when they are interrupted by a voice in the darkness. As they investigate the mysterious voice, they discover Edna, a rather eccentric space alien and her slightly flaky, talking computer. The boys tour the solar system and our galaxy in Edna's space ship. Suitable for all ages. Admission is $2 in addition to the general admission price. Greensboro Children's Museum hosts 'Main Street Cafe': This interactive cafe' is located outside of the Grocery Store and will allow children to engage in active role-play by assuming various career roles within a restaurant, such as a waiter or waitress, cashier, or customer. They will learn how to properly set a table and practice etiquette skills while "dining." They will also be given the opportunity to learn basic math skills as they take orders and bill their customers. Come on over to the new Main Street Cafe' and see what's cooking!

'Play Ball,' Greensboro Baseball Uniforms: For over one hundred years Greensboro citizens have treasured the game of baseball, flocking to open fields, ballparks, and stadiums to root for their favorite teams. "Play Ball," on display in a large showcase near the Carlson Gallery, celebrates our city's love of baseball by featuring several local uniforms, accessories and images. This exhibit has been made possible by The Juliet Halliburton Davis Fund, created to assist with costume and textile exhibitions and conservation. Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 2-5 p.m.

Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Greensboro: An informative and entertaining audio tour of 20 historical downtown sites is now available at the Biltmore Hotel. Recorded on MP3 players, the tour includes voices from Greensboro's history relating to stories of human interest and discussing local architecture. The tour runs from Market to Lee Streets and lasts about two hours. The tour is available for a two day charge of $5 per individual MP3 player, with discounts for families and groups over four.
